FLCL - Complete (DVD Rip)

This anime is also referred to as Furi Kuri. If you like over-the-top anime, this is it. The characters are all quite eccentric and very funny to watch, so there's never a dull moment. For how short it is, you end up really liking them a lot. And the music has to be mentioned. Along with Cowboy Bebop, I think it's my favorite anime soundtrack. It's short, but oh so sweet.

Synopsis: Naota is a normal Japanese 6th grade boy (although a little cynical), but when his older brother leaves for America to play baseball, he leaves his homeless 17 year old girlfriend Mamimi. She is sending mixed signals and advances to Naota, and he doesn't know what to do about her. But to make matters worse, Naota's world is totally turned upside down when he is run over by a woman on a Vespa. During their first encounter, she hits him over the head with her guitar, which then causes a horn to grow out of his forehead. She calls herself "Haruko", and her presence changes Naota's life to even further insanity.

Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex

In the year 2029, the world is made borderless by the net; augmented humans live in virtual environments, watched over by law enforcement that is able to download themselves into super-powered, crime busting mecha.

The ultimate secret agent of the future is not human, has no physical body and can freely travel the information highways of the world, hacking and manipulating whatever and whenever required.

Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG

Hellsing Agency is a group of fighters that protects Great Britain and the Anglican Church from vampires and ogres. Led by Integra Hellsing, the heiress of the legendary Hellsing Family, the agency sets on the crusade with Alucard, a renegade vampire who fights for humanity.

No one really knows what the 60 billion dollar-wanted-man named Vash really looks like, only what damage he has been fabled to have caused. Due to over 300 insurance claims filed by the inhabitants of the cities Vash the Stampede has supposedly demolished, the FIA has sent two claims inspectors - Meryl Stryfe & Milly Thompson - to find Vash and investigate / fine him for all the damage he has caused. Now Vash must not only deal with merciless bounty hunters, but hounding insurance companies too in a setting very reminiscent of such American westerns as Bonanza or Gunsmoke.

It’s the year T.C. 4767; four thousand years have passed since Earth was abandoned, which was attacked by unknown life force called the Gnosis. The Wolglinde, a battleship for the Galaxy Federation, picked up a mysterious object called a Zohar. For some reason it attracts the Gnosis to it. The Wolglinde ends up getting attacked by the Gnosis, a battle android “KOS-MOS” gets activated without even being started.

Full Metal Alchemist

In this world, there exists people with special abilities to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. These people are known as alchemists. This process does come with a cost though, the basic law of alchemy states that to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.

The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric - also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist - who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an accident. Edward managed to contain his brother's soul in a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother's life, he had to pay a great price himself.

To get back what they've lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosophers Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously.

Furi Kuri (FLCL)

The series focuses on Nandaba Naota, a twelve-year-old boy living in the fictional and initially tranquil Japanese suburb of Mabase. Naota lives with his lecherous father Kamon and his baseball-coaching grandfather Shigekuni at the family bakery and home. He greatly admires his older brother Tasuku, a baseball phenomenon who has gone to the United States to play the game (an unseen character). Naota's daily routine involves going to school, dealing with his brother's sexually frustrated high school girlfriend Samejima Mamimi, and going home. Naota seems to be very frustrated with his life, and in the opening episode is musing about how constrictive and boring Mabase is. This complaint is borne through to the final episode, despite many examples to the contrary. Naota's life is turned upside down in the first episode when he is hit by a Vespa driven by the rebellious free spirit known as Haruhara Haruko, a woman who later becomes his housekeeper, though she may not be what she appears to be.

Elfen Lied

The Diclonius, a mutated homo sapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possesses two horns in their heads, and has a "sixth sense" which gives it telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murder most of the guards in the laboratory, only to get shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives and manages to drift along to a beach, where two teenagers named Kouta and Yuka discovers her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, "Nyuu," and the two allow her to stay at Kouta's home. However, it appears that the evil "Lucy" is not dead just yet...

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Complete Series (High Quality)

Well, this is one of my favorite animes. It's pretty popular here in America, and in Japan it was the most popular anime of 2006 (if it still isn't), the reason being how different yet accessible it is. It also usually appears in the top 10 anime on anime sites like ANN and MyAnimeList. So, it's highly recommended. They finally decided to make another season, so that will probably come out sometime next year.

Important Note: The series originally aired out of order, and that is how most people prefer it (this is how I posted it). But because of this, things won't make sense at first, since it isn't in completely chronological order except in some spots. The first episode, Mikuru Asahina's Adventure Episode 00, is basically a home video created by the characters, so that is why it looks like it does; during the school festival, this is what they are showing to the attendees. So, just keep in mind, the rest of the episodes do not look like this. Now, the reason people prefer it like it was originally aired is because it ends up feeling more complete. The last episode chronologically doesn't really feel like a last episode, but the last episode of the original broadcast order does. So, I really recommend watching it how I posted it. Finally, for reference, there's a link to the chronological order in the info box, so you can keep things straight, if needed.

5 Centimeters Per Second

5 Centimeters Per Second (Byōsoku Go Senchimētoru), aka "A Chain of Short Stories About Their Distance" is a 2007 animated feature film by Makoto Shinkai, who also made "Voices of a Distant Star" and "The Place Promised in Our Early Days".
"The movie is named 5 Centimeters Per Second for the speed at which cherry blossom petals fall, petals being a metaphorical representation of humans, reminiscent of the slowness of life and how people often start together but slowly drift into their separate ways."
